Winter Emergency Sleeping Centre

The Winter Emergency Sleeping Centre is open between mid of November and March.

The Caritas Winter Emergency Sleeping Centre in Graz offers up to 40 people protection from the cold in winter. In winter, the need to have no roof over one's head unfortunately also increases in Graz and Styria. That is why Caritas opens its own winter emergency shelter every winter. Every day from 6 p.m. to 7.30 a.m. the next day, up to 40 people (adult women and men, temporarily minors accompanied by a legal guardian) can get warm accommodation there for the night.

Homeless people can warm up, recharge their batteries & sleep in the emergency sleeping facility. In addition, the sanitary facilities of Arche 38 are available for men (daily 10 am - 4 pm), for women those in the Marianum (Mon - Fri from 9 am - 11.30 am). A small evening meal is offered in the winter emergency shelter, breakfast and lunch are available in the Marienstüberl, medical care in the Marienambulanz, or counselling on how to secure one's livelihood in the Marianum.

Opening hours: Every day from 6 p.m. - 7.30 a.m.

Please feel free to contact us with your questions and concerns.
